Worship Over Worry
Message Notes
In this message from the Make It Louder series, Pastor Randy Phillips speaks to a noisy, stressful world that is pushing fear into marriages, homes, and hearts. The answer is not to pretend the pressure is gone. The answer is to make worship louder than worry.
Paul wrote Philippians from a prison cell. He had every reason to panic. Instead he said he had learned a secret: even in chains you can be anxious for nothing. Randy walks the church through that secret in Philippians 4:6–7.
Be anxious for nothing. In everything, by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
That peace is not your peace. It is God’s peace—illogical, supernatural, and strong enough to stand watch over a troubled mind. Randy gives three weapons for making worship the louder voice:
Randy’s challenge is simple: you do not have to wait for circumstances to settle before you worship. See the unrest and say, in spite of that, I will make worship louder than worry. God’s peace will do what understanding cannot. It will guard you.
